When baozi walked into Studio 180, she didn’t look at the tape machine like a relic, she treated it like an old friend. The 23-year-old French artist from Hong Kong makes electronic music infused with neo-soul that lives between pulse and poetry, and for this TAPED. Session, she brought that same duality to the analog world. Her performance of “Bday Blues” turns introspection into movement with soft vocals floating over tight, hypnotic grooves that seem to breathe with the room. Inspired by artists like Yaeji and Billie Eilish, baozi builds contrasts: warmth against precision, vulnerability against rhythm.
